The wastegate is a critical component used to control the boost pressure generated by the turbocharger. Available new or factory rebuilt!

Regulating Boost Pressure: The primary role of the wastegate is to regulate the amount of boost pressure produced by the turbocharger. It does this by controlling the flow of exhaust gases that drive the turbocharger’s turbine. By opening or closing, the wastegate adjusts how much exhaust gas bypasses the turbine, thereby controlling the speed of the turbine and the boost pressure.
Preventing Over boost: The wastegate prevents the turbocharger from producing too much boost pressure, which could lead to engine knock, overheating, or excessive wear. By managing the boost pressure within safe limits, the wastegate helps protect the engine and maintain its performance.
Enhancing Engine Efficiency: Properly managing boost pressure ensures that the engine operates efficiently. The wastegate helps to balance the turbocharger’s output with the engine’s requirements, ensuring optimal power delivery and fuel efficiency.
Improving Engine Response: By controlling boost pressure, the wastegate helps to optimize engine response across different operating conditions. This allows for smoother acceleration and better overall engine performance.
Maintaining Engine Safety: In addition to controlling boost pressure, the wastegate also plays a role in maintaining engine safety by preventing excessive exhaust temperatures and pressures that could lead to engine damage.
All Turbo-system components (turbocharger, wastegate, controller, and pressure relief valves) are overhauled in accordance with Hartzell Engine Technologies Recommended Service Facility (RSF) requirements. Specifically, these RSF requirements are:
