Wiebel NLG Oleo Kit
This kit replaces the OEM metal lower bearing and floating piston with a polymer bearing and piston. The traditional use of rubber O-rings in dynamic sealing applications is replaced with polymeric lip seals and the metal piston scraper is replaced by a polymeric wiper.
This upgrade provides three key benefits improving the reliability of the NLG shock strut:
- The possibility of metal-to-metal contact causing damage to the piston sealing surfaces is eliminated.
- Typical O-ring failure modes are eliminated.
- Cold weather sealing performance is improved due to the combination of the lip seal design and the low temperature characteristics of the proprietary elastomeric polymer which makes for a superior dynamic sealing system.
