PowerUp overhauled magnetos use the best of serviceable parts and new parts which results in a magneto of OEM quality at an overhauled price. PowerUp has the industries greatest supply of high quality Bendix dual magneto cores. Our inspection criteria is demanding and we only use the best of serviceable parts. If a part does not pass the inspection criteria, then PowerUp replaces the unserviceable part with a new replacement part. When delivered to our customers to be installed on your airplane’s engine, the PowerUp overhauled mag looks like new and will operate like new.

Improvements on New Replacement Parts:

Capacitor Design: Internally grounded lead for improved durability. Square insulator and stud base, less prone to over-torquing during installation.

Coil Design: Thicker insulation allows for a higher spark, thicker lamination plates on the top and bottom resists deformation during assembly.

Breaker Points: Clamp-up force applied to metal frame (instead of plastic). Improved spring eliminates point bounce (these methods reduce point drift over service life).

Block Assembly: Arc suppression ribs added to the bridge in high tension carbon brush zone, reducing miss-fires, and geometric asymmetry prevents incorrect installation.

Distributor Gear: Distributor gear made from Monel for superior arc erosion resistance. Electrode is heat staked to the shaft and hub for mechanical stability.

Eligibility Chart 7797 Notes:

  1. Slick Magneto Model 4345 must be used with Textron Lycoming Isolation Drive Adapter, Lycoming P/N LW15416. This part is not supplied by Champion Aerospace. Reference Lycoming Service Instruction 1346 for further information.
  2. When upgrading 4-cylinder Lycoming engines to dual impulse coupled magnetos, refer to Champion Aerospace publication SL2-93.
  3. When upgrading 360 Lycoming engines from impulse coupled to retard breaker magneto’s refer to Lycoming Service Letter SL-1506.
  4. When ordering the 4333 Magneto only, no gear included. However, the K4334-xx Ignition Upgrade Kit includes drive gears (qty 2 each).
  5. K4520 Ignition Upgrade Kit does not include drive gears.
  6. Magneto is configured to accept 600 series harness. Harness adapter M3154 is included with magneto.
  7. Will not fit Cessna model 337 with magnetic tach pickup on rear engine.
  8. Refer to Champion Aerospace publication SL3-94 prior to ordering this magneto.
  9. Upgrade from competitor magnetos on the Franklin 335 or 350 will require gears that may no longer be available. See Champion Aerospace publication SL3-92.
  10. -nd and -wd shown in certain engine applications refer to narrow deck and wide deck, respectively.
