Main Landing Gear Oleo Kit

(P/N M1004)

Available for all models of Aerostar aircraft. One kit will cover one main landing gear.

An essential part of optimal landing gear shock strut performance is seal integrity. This kit assures optimal landing gear performance when you need it. Proprietary lip-seal design coupled with high quality materials and advanced engineering provides a more robust dynamic seal, eliminating the possibility of extrusion or roll failures. Use of non-metallic lower bearings, upper cap and floating pistons eliminate the possibility of score marks on dynamic sealing surfaces leading to leakage. Wiebel NLG Oleo Kit

(P/N M1010)

This kit replaces the OEM metal lower bearing and floating piston with a polymer bearing and piston. The traditional use of rubber O-rings in dynamic sealing applications is replaced with polymeric lip seals and the metal piston scraper is replaced by a polymeric wiper.

This upgrade provides three key benefits improving the reliability of the NLG shock strut:

  1. The possibility of metal-to-metal contact causing damage to the piston sealing surfaces is eliminated
  2. Typical O-ring failure modes are eliminated
  3. Cold weather sealing performance is improved due to the combination of the lip seal design and the low temperature characteristics of the proprietary elastomeric polymer which makes for a superior dynamic sealing system

Turbo Cross-Shaft (TCS) Bearing Block Kit

(P/N M-01-1004-1)

Applicable to turbo-charged Piper Aerostar aircraft only. One kit is required per engine. Only compatible with OEM cross shaft P/N 300035-527 with replaceable end shafts (note: kit includes high-strength stainless steel end shafts).

Designed to save time and reduce maintenance with long-life polymer bearings. These advanced technology bearings eliminate premature wear of the cross-shaft and last longer than the OEM solution. Exhaust pressure pulses from the engine cause oscillations at the turbo’s wastegate butterfly resulting in vibration at the cross-shaft bearing blocks and lead to premature wear of the bearings and end shafts. With high-temperature self-lubricating polymer bearings securely carrying the turbo cross-shaft at both ends, without the need for any lubrication, premature wear is eliminated, and maintenance is reduced, saving you time, and keeping you flying longer.

An essential part of the Aerostar engine, the proper functioning of the turbo cross-shaft is critical. This kit helps resolve costly maintenance issues and lasts longer than the OEM components through the use of revolutionary design and self-lubricating polymer bearings.

This TCS kit reduces the pilot’s need to actively manage the manifold pressures through the throttle levers by reducing worn cross-shaft bearings with self-lubricating polymer bearings.

Hydraulic Accumulator Piston and Seal Upgrade Kits

(P/N M1030 and M1031)

Offers Aerostar owners the option to upgrade the hydraulic accumulator with a fully non-metallic piston and improved dynamic seals!

The non-metallic AeroTough® GF piston eliminates any chance of scratching the cylinder bore during normal operation. The Thorseal material will remain stable over a wide range of operating temperatures and will not swell, shrink, or bind. This Marsh Brothers kit also includes (3) parts, which is reduced from the quantity of replacement parts compared to the OEM design of (5) parts, ultimately simplifying the assembly process.

This upgrade kit includes a non-metallic piston made from their proprietary polymer AeroTough® GF, and state of the art Thorseals®, replacing the OEM aluminum piston fitted with a nitrile rubber o-ring, back up rings and a PTFE rider ring.
